2026 OFFICIAL PROGRAM – PLAYBALL!
The Blue Jays captured the hearts and imaginations of fans across Canada, coming oh so close to winning their third World Series Championship. The team resonated with fans by how close they were — how they had complete trust in one another. Egos were set aside and they played for each other, allowing everyone to share the spotlight and have a starring role. Their journey included extending the World Series to a thrilling extra inning 7th game versus the LA Dodgers that many are describing as one of the all-time great baseball games.
Some memorable playoff moments:
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr’s grand slam in game two of the ALDS, leading the Jays to a 2‑0 series lead versus the Yankees.
- Trey Yesavage’s brilliance in his first postseason start, limiting the Yankees to no hits, and a walk while striking out 11 over 5.1 innings.
- George Springer’s three-run homer in the 7th inning of game seven that propelled the Jays to a trip to the World Series, after being down 0‑2 to begin the ALCS versus the Mariners.
- Addison Barger’s pinch hit grand slam home run vs the Dodgers in game one of the World Series — a game the Jays would win 11‑4. It was the first ever pinch hit grand slam in World Series history.
- And Bo Bichette’s 3-run home run in game seven — willing his team to a 3‑0 lead while playing on only one healthy knee.
In terms of team and World Series records set:
- The eight home runs Vladdy hit in the postseason is a Blue Jays franchise record.
- Trey Yesavage is the only pitcher in MLB history to record 12 strikeouts with no walks in a World Series game. He also broke Don Newcombe’s 76-year old rookie record for strikeouts in a World Series game. And, is now the youngest pitcher ever with at least 10 strikeouts in a World Series game.
- Ernie Clement and Vladdy are the first teammates in MLB history to record 25+ hits in a single postseason. Ernie Clement also set a new record with 30 total postseason hits in one playoff year (eclipsed Randy Arozarena’s 29, which he accomplished in 2020).
Lastly, in terms of award nominations:
- Silver Slugger Finalists: V.Guerrero Jr (1B), B.Bichette (SS), G. Springer (OF/DH).
- Gold Glove Finalists: A.Kirk (C), T.France (1B), V.Guerrero Jr (1B), E.Clement (3B and Util), A.Gimenez (2B).
- Manager of the Year Finalist: John Schneider
Needless to say, it was a special year. There isn’t a fan who isn’t bursting with pride given the team’s accomplishments in 2025. There’s absolutely no reason to believe that this group can’t come back and deliver the same type of performance in 2026 — with a slightly better ending!
