Toronto Blue Jays

Sporting a fresh look in 2019, the Toronto Blue Jays are ready to swing into action under new manager Charlie Montoyo.

Backed by a successful managing career in the Minor Leagues, the native of Puerto Rico possesses a strong track record molding young baseball talent to elite status, a trait that is now invaluable to the Blue Jays’ rise. A former infielder with the Montreal Expos (1993), Montoyo also offers a wealth of knowledge at the Major League level, most recently serving as the bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Transitioning towards the future, last season saw a large number of young Blue Jays begin to emerge. Ryan Borucki (pitcher), Thomas Pannone (pitcher), Sean Reid-Foley (pitcher), Danny Jansen (catcher), Reese McGuire (catcher), Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (second base), Rowdy Tellez (first base), Jonathan Davis (outfielder) and Billy McKinney (outfielder) all made their Major League debuts in 2018, finishing the campaign among Toronto’s roster.

Backed by one of the best prospect pools in all of baseball, there’s even more young talent yet to come for the club. Highlighted by the likes of Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio, the Blue Jays future will continue to break through in 2019 and beyond.
